The Blue of Silence
(Araray Velho, Gaspar Caon)
Waves of the sea, they carved
Memories of an old refrain
And like the rain they poured
Tears upon my hands' terrain
Drunk upon the salty breeze
A song amid the wind, it rose
Each time I would retrace
The saddest sea tale ever told
Seven seas he dared to brave
And seven more he did explore
Just one treasure he unveiled
But none had ever seen before
From the stars to depths below
His ship set forth with no delay
Much like a shadow's fleeting glow
That fades as dusk gives way
From destiny, he'd not return
His flag did vanish from all view
Swept away by unseen hands
In an endless dive, he flew
He saw the sea embrace the sky
Leaving just his cry behind
To surface as a melody
A song that spoke of ties that bind
A dream through waves that wind did wake
Of love, its gentle tune did make
In the ocean's lonely sprawl
A chant of love does echo far
It drove my reason to the brink
Left my life a hueless scar
It robbed me of my sense
And plunged my ship beneath the blue
All that lingered in the end
The silent azure of hearts torn in two
